Size: small to medium
Color: very delicate striations, intensive bright red, the fruits are uniformly colored
Skin: not very thick, smooth, slightly waxy

Flesh: yellow, fine, juicy, medium sugar content, low acidity, aromatic

Harvest time: mid-end of August, good shelf life to January/February

CHARACTERISTICS
Fengal (s) has good color stability. The percentage of well colored fruit on the tree is very high. Fengal (s) is a very typical Gala.

Gala Decarli Fendeca (s) is a mutation of Gala. It was discovered by Alberto Decarli (South Tyrol).

Vigor: medium
Flowering: mid-late
Pollinators: Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Pinova, Red Delicious, Evereste, Prof.Sprenger

THE FRUIT
Size: small to medium
Color: very intense and extensive red, the over color covers almost the entire surface of the fruit; nevertheless Gala Decarli Fendeca (s) remains a typical Gala (pronounced lenticels and silver film). The percentage of over color is very high.
Skin: not very thick, smooth, slightly waxy.
Shape: oblong fruit, lightly flat
Flesh: yellow, fine, juicy, medium sugar content, low acidity, aromatic

HARVEST AND STORAGE
Harvest time: end of August, good shelf life to January / February

CHARACTERISTICS
The coloring is early (mid-July).
Gala Decarli Fendeca (s) differs to other Gala clones because of its excellent color stability
(no color regression was noted).
The coloration of the fruit is uniform and stable. Also suitable for growing in poor color sites.

Vigor: medium growth, easy to manage.
Flowers: about the same as Golden Delicious

Size: medium
Color: very well colored, bright red, presence of intense stripes. Skin: not very thick, smooth, slightly waxy. Shape: oblong fruit

Gala Schnitzer (S) Schniga ®

The variety Schniga was discovered by (F. Schnitzer, Dorf Tirol, Südtirol); it was originated from a bud mutation on a tree of the variety Tenroy (Royal Gala).
